We bet you didn’t know this, but in 1994 Stetson made an appearance at the Olympics with the U.S. team and had them looking good all the way to the podium. It was the winter Olympics, and Stetson’s Dick Maday lived up to his already huge legend. He was able to score a deal that allowed him to dress the United States Winter Olympic team with Stetson hats. These hats went with the team all the way to Lillehammer, Norway and helped keep their heads warm throughout all the events. This is just one notch on Dick Maday’s belt, as he as sold over 1 million Stetson hats in his 33 year career with the company. He says the most popular hat he has sold is the Indiana Jones fedora hat, and this is understandable, but he says one of his proudest moments is when he was able to give the United States Calvary authentic Stetson hats. Dick has been retired for 3 years now, and Stetson would like to take their hat off to him.
